Fluid Matter is both a site intervention and a photographic investigation of how the human environment evolves. It focuses on the relations between architecture, industrial exploitation and nature; trying to find the borders where they meet, separate or transform.
The research project started in 2013 in Sicily investigating the dramatic changes that since the 1950s, with the Agrarian Reform, the domination of the capitalistic economy, the industrialization of agriculture and the corrupted political system, have altered its physical and historical cultural aesthetics for ever.
I have been investigating these issues in Italy, The Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg.
This project has been supported by CBK Rotterdam, Farm Cultural Park, Fiumara d’Arte, Monteverdi Tuscany, Ampelhaus and Le Fonds Belval.
